Other applications include the analysis of jam, sugar syrup, condensed milk and vegetable oils.
A small drop of the honey to be analyzed is placed on the blue glass prism using the pipette provided. The prism is then closed and pressed down. The prism should be covered very thinly. The refractometer is now held up to a light source and the scale is focused using the rotating ring on the eyepiece. The moisture of the honey is the borderline of blue and white.
