The ABBE ART-111 refractometer is used to quickly and accurately measure the refractive index (nD) between 1.300 and 1.700 nD. A parallel scale allows the sugar content to be read between 0 and 95%. Translucent liquids, dispersions, emulsions and other substances can be measured. The supplied thermometer allows the temperature of the stage to be measured simultaneously between 0 and +60°C. This allows the "standardized" refractive index (at 20°C) to be calculated using conversion tables. Regulating the temperature of the prisms is also possible by means of pre-installed water nozzles.
