Our wine refractometer for measuring sugar content in the range of 0-44% Brix and 0-190°Oe has three scales.
The first scale (mas Sacch) is used to determine the sucrose concentration of sugary solutions. The other two scales (Oe, KMW) indicate the must weight, i.e. the density of the grape must. It is an indicator of the expected alcohol content of wine when the sugar has fully fermented. The refractometer is therefore used particularly in viticulture to determine harvest time and in wineries.
