Our REF714 wine refractometer offers two scales. The first scale (mas Sacch) is used to determine the sucrose concentration of sugary solutions. The Oechsle scale indicates the must weight, i.e., the density of the grape must. It is an indicator of the expected alcohol content of wine when the sugar has completely fermented. The refractometer is therefore used in particular in viticulture to determine the harvest time, as well as in wineries.
